I found a post on Pinterest that I wanted to give a shot. The one thing that I am terrible at with planning is what to make for dinner every night. We get home and the kids are wanting to snack and then they never would eat their dinner. So... I decided to try out some crockpot meals to help with that.
This is the post that I took some of the recipes from.
Dinner Recipes
Teriyaki Chicken
· 6-8 boneless chicken breasts
· 1 cup teriyaki sauce
· 1 cup water
· 2/3 cup brown sugar
· 3 cloves of garlic
Cook on low for 4-6 hours.
Recipe adapted from Ashley Noel Barnes
Sweet BBQ Chicken
· 4-6 chicken breasts
· 12 oz. bottle of BBQ sauce
· ½ cup brown sugar
· ¼ cup vinegar
· 1 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
· 1 tsp. garlic powder
Cook on low for 4-6 hours.
Recipe adapted from Ashley Noel Barnes
Island Chicken
· 6 chicken breasts
· 3 t. of lemon juice
· 2 cloves of garlic, diced
· 2 t. dried oregano
· 2 1/2 t. of soy sauce
· 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
· 1/2 cup of chicken stock
· salt and pepper to taste
Cook on high for 4-5 hours. Recipe from Annies Eats
Parmesan Garlic Chicken
· 6 chicken breasts
· 1 cup parmesan cheese
· 1 envelope Italian salad dressing mix
· 2 cloves of garlic, minced
· 1/2 cup olive oil
Mix together cheese, garlic, and dressing mix. Dip chicken breasts into olive oil, then coat with cheese mixture. Place in freezer bag and store. To serve, thaw completely. Bake at 400 degrees for 45-60 minutes. It creates a nice coating/crust of the cheese.
Helpful Tips:
I followed the directions for each recipe and then I used gallon freezer bags. I filled them up and put them flat in the freezer. I would recommend taking out the bag 24 hours before cooking and let it thaw in the refrigerator. You aren't going to be able to fit a frozen square bag into a round crockpot. Then put it in the crock pot and go!

Note: When preparing these as frozen packs, you will include everything in a bag except the milk and/or ice. The milk and ice need to be added at the time you blend it to help out with the consistency.
Be sure to include how much milk and/ice to include when you're ready to blend it.
So, far we are loving them! They are saving us money and time!
